As soon as the holiday season approaches, we go into instant “correspondence mode” – yearning to channel Emily Post and connect with family and friends through beautiful holiday cards sent in the mail instead of an inbox. While holding a tangible greeting in our hands can be wonderful for the heart, it wreaks havoc on the environment.
Here are some of our favorite Eco-friendly options:
- Botanical Paperworks is a company that has set out to create awareness of plantable paper, which is biodegradable eco-paper made from previously used consumer products. Their holiday cards are super cute and will instantly produce a smile from who ever is on the receiving end. We are crushing on the Pug Card Set and the Wee Christmas Monster Set.
- Curating ethical gifts that matter is the core belief of the company Yours Sustainably and we totally dig their green notelets from print designer Jen Rowland.
- Since 1992, the Green Field Paper Company has been crafting beautiful Eco-friendly cards for all seasons. This holiday season, their Chia Card™ Holiday Penguins couldn’t be any cuter!
- There is also the awesome option to recycle Christmas cards after the season is over using the company Recycle Now and turning the cards that would otherwise be tossed into the garbage, into something new.
This holiday season whenever you are scrambling around and re-connecting with those who live far away, send a card with a purpose and keep the belief of sustainability close to your heart.
